Syd Livingston
Syd has been a professional singer since the age of 7 when she joined AGVA, working at Army & Air Force Bases in Oklahoma & Texas with her twin sister Sheri. They continued singing with bands in Oklahoma, and later worked with a vocal group in California, Las Vegas & New Orleans. After singer Mel Torme recommended the group to trombonist Si Zentner, they toured the US for 2 years with his orchestra. Syd then settled in New York where she sang with various bands and such renowned jazz musicians as pianists John Bunch and Marty Napoleon, trumpeter Ray Nance, clarinetist Sol Yaged and drummer Ray Mosca. When she wasn’t gigging, she studied commercial technique with Angela Montalbano. Syd is very happy to join the cast of “Or So The Story Goes.”
Her favorite fairytale is “Rapunzel.” |
